A recount has been called in the Letterkenny Electoral Area.
Returning Officer Seamus Canning made the shock announcement at 1.30am this morning at the Aura Leisure Centre.
It follows a request from one of the candidates, Mary T Sweeney, which Mr Canning said he was acceding to.
Before that Donal Many Kelly, Tomas Sean Devine and Gerry McMonagle had been elected.
But this now means that a full recount is to get underway at 10am.
