The victim of Sunday’s road traffic tragedy in Inishowen will be laid to rest tomorrow.

James ‘Jimmy’ McKenna (25) was walking home at 1.30am on Sunday at Ballynally, near Moville, when he was struck by a car. He was pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed he was returning from attending a function at the Inishowen Vintage Show.

The driver of the car, a woman in her 60s, was taken to hospital for assessment.

A native of Logan Close, Luddan, Buncrana, he will be sadly missed by his Parents Michelle & James, his brother John Paul, his sisters Catherine and Caroline, brothers-in-law Kevin and Seamus, his granny Margret Reidy, his nieces Kate and Erin and extended family and friends.

The late Mr McKenna’s funeral mass will take place at 10am tomorrow at St Mary’s Oratory, Buncrana, with burial afterward in Cockhill cemetery. The mass can be viewed online at www.churchservices.tv/buncrana.

Meanwhile, Gardaí have renewed their appeal for information in relation to his death.

Gardaí are urging anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) from the Moville area around the time of the collision are requested to provide it to Gardaí.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Buncrana Garda Station at 074 932 0540, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
