National: Teenager killed in workplace accident in Cavan

A teenage boy has died following a workplace accident in Cavan.

The 17-year-old died following the tragedy which happened at a premises around 4.30pm yesterday.

The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was removed from the scene to the mortuary in Cavan General Hospital and a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

A file will be prepared for the coroners court.

The Health and Safety Authority has said it is aware of the incident and has launched an investigation.
