Junior WRC Champion Creighton to take co-driver’s seat for Donegal Rally

The reigning Junior WRC Champion will be swapping his steering wheel for pace notes at this weekend’s Donegal International Rally.

County Down’s William Creighton won the Junior WRC title last year, making the step up to WRC2 machinery this season alongside his usual co-driver Liam Regan.

However they will swap seats this weekend as Regan takes on the Donegal Rally in his historic Skoda Estelle 130L – with Creighton on note-taking duty.

Despite being used to being the one flying over the crests and sliding through the square rights instead of calling them out, Creighton told Motorsport Ireland that he’s excited for the new challenge Donegal will pose for him and Regan.

“This is my first time reading notes,” Creighton told Motorsport Ireland.

“It is something I’ve wanted to do for a while so when Liam said he needed a co-driver it sounded like the right opportunity. A two-hour flight to a World Rally Championship event and we had the whole thing planned! An iconic rally with an amazing atmosphere so I’m delighted to be a part of it and have a fun weekend with Liam and his team.”

They will get out on the rally on Saturday in their red Skoda, as the historic classes only take on two days of the three day event.
