The first meeting of the newly-formed Donegal County Council takes place in Lifford today.
After a gruelling election campaign, the new councillors will start to get to work with the first order of business being the Council AGM.
The most notable new additions come in the form of four Councillors from the 100% Redress Party – Ali Farren, Joy Beard, Denis McGee and Tomás Seán Devine.
Milford’s Declan Meehan will also offically become the first openly gay man to sit on Donegal County Council.
Today’s Council business includes electing a new Cathaoirleach and Leas Cathaoirleach, and assigning of members to the Council’s numerous committees.
