Members of the Donegal Travellers Project and the Donegal Intercultural Platform came together recently to hold a tea and coffee morning raising funds for Palestine.
A total of €656 was raised, going towards medical aid for Palestinians.
There was also a raffle hosted to raise funds.
A number of speakers addressed the crowd, including Fadl Mustapha of the Donegal Palestinian Solidarity Campaign.
He told attendees of the current massive struggles Palestinians are facing in the face of Israel’s brutality.
Fadl particularly focused on the genocide being inflicted on the people of Gaza and called on community organisations, statuary and non-statuary agencies, to come together and act in solidarity with the people of Palestine in their fight against Israeli apartheid, saying that “their silence is too loud”.
Both the Donegal Travellers Project and Donegal Intercultural Platform thanked all those who donated and attended the event: “It was great to see so many people and organisations from the locality attending for such an important cause. Thank you to everyone for coming, and for donating so generously.”
