Today, Monday, will be Ireland’s hottest day of 2024 so far as temperatures soar to 25C.

Donegal will see highs of 24C and a balmy evening to follow with temperatures going no lower than 11C overnight.

We can expect some hot sunny conditions but a good lot of cloud throughout today.

“Staying dry for most, though isolated patches of light rain and drizzle will occur,” said Met Eireann’s Ulster forecast.

It’s not so good news for hayfever sufferers, as the pollen count is at a high level. Grass, nettle and weed pollen are the main sources this week.

Today will see a good lot of cloud for a time, but with spells of sunshine developing, the best of these across the midlands & east. ⛅️

It’s likely to stay mostly cloudy in southern & western coastal parts, with some mist or drizzle at times. 🌥️ pic.twitter.com/UV8sQkPH58
