Gardaí probe theft and destruction of watersports company’s property

A West Donegal watersports business is counting the costs after a storage caravan and equipment were stolen and destroyed last week. 

Selkie Sailing’s 14ft blue and white vintage caravan, which is normally parked at Magheroarty pier, was stolen while packed with 14 surf boards, 2 wetsuits and 10 body boards. The caravan was later located burnt out in a field at Ardsbeg, Gortahork.

Gardaí have launched an appeal today to help trace those responsible for the theft, which occurred between 4pm on Sunday the 23rd of June and 9am on Monday the 24th of June.

A spokesperson urged anybody who can offer any relevant information, to contact Milford Garda Station on 074-9153060. The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111.
