A man in his 30s has been killed in a workplace accident in Buncrana.
The tragic incident occurred yesterday evening in the Illies area.
It is understood the man suffered fatal injuries while doing mechanical work. He later passed away at the scene.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) has confirmed they are aware of the incident and have launched an investigation.
Gardaí confirmed that the local coroner has been notified and a post-mortem will take place in due course.
