Yellow box proposed to ease traffic problems at Lismonaghan Letterkenny

A yellow box is ‘essential’ to ease traffic issues in the Leck Road and Lismonaghan area of Letterkenny, Donegal County Council has been told.

Cllr Donal Coyle gained support for the suggested measure at this Wednesday’s meeting of the Letterkenny-Milford Municipal District.

“This has to do with the build-up of traffic from the Leck road into town, especially at certain times and in the mornings and when schools are open,” Cllr Coyle said.

“If there is someone coming out from the town and turning up Lismonaghan they are blocked off because the turn is blocked by traffic so a yellow box would be essential there.”

Donegal County Council is now set to assess the location to see if a yellow box is required.

“If deemed necessary, these works will be added to the Road Marking programme,” a spokesperson said.
