The new owner of Kelly’s Centra and Kelly’s Diner has promised he will continue to invest in the wildly popular facility.

Des Cosgrove purchased the store and diner from Máirtín and Angie Kelly, who are leaving the business after over a decade of service to spend more time with their family.

In a post on social media, Des promised his commitment to the high standards in place at the store, and thanked Máirtin and Angie.

“I am truly honoured to come on board as the new owner of Centra Mountain Top and Kelly’s Diner,” Des posted.

“I will to continue offering unwavering service, a warm welcome and top-quality products to the people of Letterkenny. The award winning Centra Mountain Top and Diner has been central to the local community for many years, supporting local initiatives and providing local employment. The success of the store is a credit to previous owners Máirtín and Angie Kelly and I would like to wish them well long into the future.”

Des also outlined his vision for the future of the facility, from where he will draw from his experience of owning similar stores in Bundoran and County Sligo.

“As the new owner I look forward to bringing my retail experience as owner of Cosgrove’s SuperValu Bundoran and Cosgrove’s Centra Maugheraboy, Co Sligo to the people of Letterkenny. Having dedicated my life to retail, I am acutely aware of customers’ needs, the demand for of high-quality products, fresh produce at good value and not forgetting the importance of a friendly smile in store.”

“Our team at the Mountain Top will continue to deliver the premium service customers are accustomed to, while enhancing the shopping experience further. I will invest in the store and look forward to the bright future of Centra Mountain Top, while the store remains anchored in our support and service to the community for many years to come.”
