A Donegal County Councillor has described the practice of illegal parking in disabled bays as ‘unacceptable.’
Cllr Declan Meehan said he has been made aware of an ongoing issue in Downings with people parking in disabled access spaces at the beach.
“This is unacceptable and denies those people with mobility issues access to Downings beach,” he said.
“I have contacted the Roads Engineer and Disability Access Officer to request that the Council redo the painted markings and install clear signage so there can be no excuse.”
