Drop in number of new dwellings completed in Donegal – CSO

There has been a large drop in the number of new dwellings completed in Donegal in the first quarter of this year.

According to the Central Statics Office (CSO, 135 new builds were completed in Q2, down from 169 during the same period in 2023.

The Lifford Stranorlar Local Electoral Area (LEA) recorded the completion of 27 new dwellings, the highest in the county. This was followed by Glenties with 25, Donegal (24), Letterkenny (23) while Milford and Buncrana had 13 each.

Meanwhile, Carndonagh recorded the lowest with just eight new builds completed.
