Carndonagh brothers Patrick and Edmund Simpson have officially begun their next venture at Da Vinci’s Hotel on Culmore Road in Derry.

The Tulnaree businessmen, who have a portfolio of properties and hospitality businesses, have taken over the hotel from the Garvan O’Doherty Group.

Yesterday marked the official change in ownership of Da Vinci’s.

In a post on social media, the hotel’s “team DV’ paid tribute to the Garvan O’Doherty Group:

“The Garvan O’Doherty Group have, over the years, been wonderful custodians of our amazing hotel, and we wish them every success with their future endeavours.”

Customers have been advised to expect some changes during the transition period. However, the hotel will remain open for business.

“Our hotel will continue to operate as normal however, our kitchen will be operating on a reduced capacity (Breakfast only). Please keep an eye for further updates.

“We’re all incredibly excited here at Da Vinci’s Hotel to work with our new owners and we look forward to welcoming you all to our wonderful hotel. As we embark on our new journey of delivering unparalleled hospitality to the people of Derry and beyond.

“Thank you from team DV.”

The Simpson brothers own the Brunswick Moviebowl in Derry, Benedict’s Hotel in Belfast and are also part of the consortium of private investors which bought Foyleside Shopping Centre last year for £27m.
