Letterkenny AC’s Danny Mooney impresses at Danny McDaid 15K

In the well attended Danny McDaid 15k, the first Letterkenny AC athlete to cross the line was Danny Mooney.

He finished in a superb time of 51:12 followed closely by Eoghain McGinley in a time of 52:11.

Ciaran Mc Gonagle ran 52:44, Philp McHugh 53:27, Martin Devenney, 56:40, Paul Cullen 56:42, Kieran Crawford 57:06, Cian Friel 59:46, Michael Black 59:56, Liam Tinney 59:56, Stephen Woods 1:00:02, Mark Nee, Mark 1:04:51, Sean Mc Fadden 1:05:27, Eimear Gormley 1:07:14, Ciaran O’Donnell 1:08:51, Peter Gallagher 1:09:17, Gary Kearns 1:09:17, Robert Kavanagh 1:09:18, Manus Mc Fadden 1:10:45, Ray Mc Dermott 1:13:17, Paul Lee 1:14:43 Frank Pinder Snr. 1:16:42, Graeme Michie 1:17:07, Margaret Shiels 1:18:28, Conor McDaid 1:21:40, Alicia Mc Nulty, 1:23:06 Con Duffy 1:23:07, Liam Wiseman 1:23:18, Stella Mc Cole, 1:25:01, Claire Price 1:34:32 and Denise Crawford ran 1:41:43.

Congratulations to Philip McGee on winning a bronze medal in the U19 1500m in National Championships.

In the Burtonport 5k 2024 the first LAC member home was Michael Harkin in a fantastic time of 17:00. Well done Michael on an excellent run.

Mark Nee ran 19:18, Adrian Callaghan 20:16, Ciaran O’Donnell ran 20:33 while Brian McBride ran 23:22.

In the John Kilmartin Memorial 5k Mark Mc Paul  ran an outstanding time of 15:38, John Mc Callion ran15:38, John Foley 17:18, Barry Mackey 18:31, Stephen Mc Bride 20:09 while Manus  Mc Fadden ran 20:45.

LAC meets at the Aura on Tuesday at 5.15pm and at 6.30pm for an interval running session, Thursday evening for a hill run at 6pm, Saturday morning at 9.30am for a tempo run and Sunday morning at 8am for a long run. 

Fit 4 Life which is run by LAC in conjunction with the Donegal Sports Partnership takes place every Monday at 6pm on the track at the Aura Leisure Centre Letterkenny. 

The new start time of 6pm has attracted a large number of participants, many of whom are now regular runners in 5km road races taking place across the county.  

The aim of the programme is to reach out to those who wish to improve their fitness and all are most welcome any Monday they choose to attend. 

Fit 4 Life is not about speed but fitness and the coaches from LAC particularly welcome newcomers.
