A spate of water outages are affecting West Donegal this afternoon.

Homes in the Falcarragh and Gortahork have been without water since last night.

There was an interruption at the water treatment plant in Falcarragh yesterday, with works expected until 9am this morning.

However many local residents remain without water this afternoon, and local Councillor Michael McClafferty has warned that water supply may still be out overnight tonight.

“Folks there are serious water problems. The areas that (were affected last night) will be tonight again. Things are bad with the water system.”

Cllr McClafferty says the following areas around Falcarragh and Gortahork will be affected: Old Town, Upper Killult, Lower Killult, Clonbarra, Balintemple, Ballyconnal (partially), Balliness.
