A well-known Donegal Town bar is planning to expand its accommodation offerings with a three-storey extension off the Diamond.
O’Donnell’s Bar and Lounge is seeking planning permission for 29 new en-suite bedrooms alongside an extension to the existing bar.
The applicant, Phonsie O’Donnell, has set out the principle of development to provide additional bed space in the town centre.
The proposal seeks to demolish the existing rear extension and replace it with a new modern three-story building.
The pub premises would also be expanded out the back with a new lounge, kitchen, toilets, stairwell and storage.
The ground floor of the proposed building would have three bedrooms. The first and second floors will each have 13 en-suite bedrooms and additional space. Additionally, the existing three-story premises facing The Diamond will have its roof replaced. The project also includes site development works.
The application is currently at the pre-validation stage with Donegal County Council.
