This free outdoor festival offers workshops, activities, music, and delicious food for all ages on Saturday August 17th at An Grianan Theatre Plaza.

The Indian Community Centre Letterkenny presents the inaugural Donegal Mela from 1 PM to 5 PM. This landmark event aims to celebrate and showcase the vibrant Indian culture within the community of Donegal, offering a unique blend of workshops, activities, music, live performances, and stalls for all ages to enjoy.

This event is another step in the implementation of the Black and Minority Ethnic Inclusion Strategy by Donegal County Council, which seeks to promote cultural diversity, inclusion, and unity within the community.

Activities for all ages include children’s art with face painting stations and a fun photo booth, an assortment of games like bean bag toss, Connect 4, Giant Jenga, and Skittles. There will be intricate henna tattoo designs, classic chess games, and the traditional Indian board game Kerala for fun.

The music segment will be highlighted with a seamless flow of local live performances, melodious performances by the talented singers, captivating dance performance, and musical talents.
Visitors can browse through a variety of stalls offering an array of goods and services, bringing the essence of India to Donegal.

This event marks a significant cultural celebration, providing a platform for the Indian community to share their rich heritage with the broader Donegal community. It’s a fantastic opportunity for families and individuals to enjoy an afternoon of cultural immersion and entertainment.
