No fines for dog fouling were handed out to dog owners in Donegal in 20023, it has been revealed.

Despite fouling being a major issue across the county, just 46 fines were handed out last year in total.

The details were disclosed in a survey of those with visual impairments carried out by Vision Ireland.

Kerry County Council handed out the most dog fouling fines with 13 summons while Dublin City Council handed out 8 followed by Cork with 6 fines.

Counties such as Donegal, Sligo, Meath, Kildare and Roscommon didn’t hand out any fines.
