The 2024 Dunfanaghy Jazz and Blues Festival is getting ready to rock for another year with over 60 free gigs over five days.

This event is a music lovers paradise and the seaside village and surrounds plays host to some of the best local, national and international live acts from Thursday September 12th to Monday the 16th.

This year they will be joined by US blues legend, Shawn Jones, who will travel from California for the event. A stand out performer who has shared bills with many renowned musicians, including B.B. King, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Bonnie Raitt, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Leon Russell, Derek Trucks, Robben Ford, Joe Bonamassa, and many others.

Also, Porter McClister will be winging his way to Donegal from his home in Nashville.

Porter has been a stalwart in the biggest venues on the strip in Nashville for thirty years, whilst also acting as band leader/lead guitarist with Gretchen Wilson and Tanya Tucker.

There are plenty of top Irish acts too with the powerful trio of Crow Black Chicken, Belfast’s Cormac Neeson and the Unholy Gospel Band, the soulful Portobello and Eirdini.

Newcomers include Brigid O’Neill, Black River Blues and the Jeanette Hutton Band making their festival debuts.

The local artists are well represented too with Mark Black, Davy K, Heads of State, and High Heel Converse, among others, showing that Donegal has a lot to offer on the live music scene!

The event is spread out across nine venues with most being just a short walk from each other and this is when the village comes alive – live music, good people, chilled drinks and great food.

Those intending to visit are asked to check out dunfanaghy.info for details on local amenities, including accommodation, food & refreshments, as well as areas of local interest and sightseeing.

Follow Dunfanaghy Jazz and Blues on Facebook and Instagram for more details and see you on the dancefloor!
