Gardaí are reminding motorists to take extra care as hedge cutting season officially starts this Sunday, 1st September.

As a result, there will be a visible increase in this type of large machinery in operation along the roadsides over the coming weeks.

“Roadside hedge cutting season will commence on the 1st of September and we would like to remind all road users to be mindful of this when travelling, particularly when using country roads,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Please drive with due care and remain alert at all times.”
