Second victim of Inishowen tragedy to be laid to rest on Monday

The second young man killed in a tragic car crash in Inishowen on Saturday last is to be laid to rest on Monday next.

Eoghán Dawson, 20, died on Tuesday following a single-vehicle collision at Cross, Quigley’s Point at 11.15pm on Saturday.

His cousin, Kían Dawson-Kirk, 16, died at the scene and his Requiem Mass was held yesterday.

Eoghán was the beloved son of Lisa Dawson and Connor Smith. Loving and cherished grandson of Michael and Michelle Dawson and the late Pat and Hugh Smith, beloved great-grandson of May Dawson and a much-loved nephew and cousin. An amazing friend and a true gentleman.

Eoghán’s remains will be reposing in his grandparents’ home, 42 Grainan Drive, Belmont Estate from 6.00pm – 10.00pm on Friday and 12noon – 10.00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Funeral from there on Monday, 2nd September at 11.45am for 12.30pm Requiem Mass in St Patrick’s Church, Pennyburn. Interment afterwards in City Cemetery.

Family flowers only, please. Donations in lieu of flowers, if wished, to The Men’s Ministry at The Hope Centre, Cornerstone City Church, Duke Street Derry BT47 6DQ.
