Katie-George Dunleavy and pilot Eve McCrystal will race for gold later this afternoon in Paris.

It’s after the pair secured a minimum of a silver medal, by recording the second-fastest heat time in the Women’s B 3000m individual pursuit.

Dunleavy, whose father is from Mountcharles, and partner McCrystal, set a time of 3:20.481 to qualify for the final at the Velodrome in Paris.

They will now race for gold for Ireland against Britain’s Sophie Unwin shortly at 1:41pm Irish time.
