Members of the public in east Donegal have been reminded that it is illegal to dump household waste in street litter bins.
The issue has become so bad that stickers were recently placed on bins in the Twin Towns warning culprits they face a €150 fine.
The notice stated that there is ‘strictly no household waste’ allowed and that CCTV is widely in operation in the area.
Illegal dumping can be reported directly to Donegal County Council on 0749153900 or to the National Environmental Complaints Line on 1800 365 123 (24 hours).
