Officials in Italy have confirmed that efforts are still ongoing to locate a missing Irish hiker.
Authorities are searching for a 39-year-old Irish male who went missing in Sardinia on Friday afternoon.
Italian media have reported that no trace of the man has been found yet, after he became separated from his brothers as they hiked on a dangerous coastal trail.
Emergency services are continuing their efforts, including the use of a coastguard helicopter.
The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs say that they are providing consular assistance to the man’s family.
