Colleagues of a woman killed in a road collision in Co Donegal over the weekend have vowed never to forget her as they described her as their “heart and soul.”

Donna McDermott, who was in her 30s, died following a two car collision at Quigley’s Point at 11.15pm on Friday night.

She was the FIFTH person to die on Donegal’s roads in just thirteen days.

Now former work colleagues of Donna from the Centra store in Moville has paid a moving tribute to the friend they said was the “heart and soul” of their work family.

Referring to her by her pet name ‘Donzo’, the tribute said that Donna would always be remembered as being full of fun and always there to help other.

The tribute includes a montage of pictures of Donna in happier times which were posted on social media.

It also includes a picture of Donna and her late father Brendan with whom she was so close.

The emotional tribute says “Where do we begin? For years you were the heart and soul of our Centra family. Front and centre with the craic and shenanigans on our nights out and in.

“First to lend a hand to whatever we were doing, from putting the fun into our fundraising, knowing who to call on if something needed fixing and you couldn’t do it!

“Dropping everything to help a friend, the biggest heart and that funny wee laugh, making the tough days easier, making the good times even better.”

The tribute adds that Donna was one of a kind who will never be forgotten.

The tribute adds “You really were a force of nature, they say that stars that shine the brightest only burn for half as long.

“And you shone bright, Donzo. We will remember you with love in our hearts and smiles on our faces. You will not be forgotten.”
