Defective concrete protest planned to disrupt traffic near FF convention

Defective Concrete Block campaigners are planning to highlight their cause with a ‘go slow’ protest outside Thursday’s Fianna Fáil convention in Letterkenny.

As FF party members gather for an election convention, a convoy of cars, lorries, and tractors will slowly make its way from the Manor Roundabout at the end of the dual carriageway to the Polestar Roundabout, passing near the Clanree Hotel around 4:30pm.

Homeowners who are organising the protest aim to bring attention to the shortcomings of the current redress scheme.

The 100% Redress Party is promoting the action in support of homeowners and their entitlement to protest.

The government has been criticised for its lack of support for homeowners struggling with the grant scheme and decisions to downgrade homeowners. The protest seeks to oppose the u-turn on retrospective application of grant scheme enhancements, as well as the slow progress in reviewing IS:465.
