Motorists warned after car broken into at Letterkenny shopping centre

A motorist has issued a warning to other shoppers after thieves tried to steal her car in a local shopping centre car park in Letterkenny.

The woman had parked her car in the covered area of the Courtyard Shopping Centre.

However, when the woman returned, thieves had damaged her car by ‘barrelling the lock” of her door.

This is a common technique used by thieves to gain entry to vehicles.

The woman warned other shoppers to ensure to park in areas were there is CCTV coverage as she claimed she was told there was none where her car was parked.
