Miracle pups survive and thrive after being found dumped in turf bag

Three miracle puppies have not only survived, but thrived, after a horrifying incident where they were found dumped inside a turf bag along with eight of their siblings.

The horrifying discovery of the 11 beautiful Collie puppies in July disgusted many, as the poor pups were left to die before being discovered by a young woman in Carrigart.

After being taken in by an Animals in Need Donegal volunteer, it was found that six of the puppies had died – with a seventh passing shortly after being discovered.

The four remaining pups had all suffered heatstroke, and sadly for one of them, Zahra, the brain damage suffered due to the horrifying start to her short life meant that it was impossible for her to survive despite a tough fight.

However, the three pups that remained slowly but surely gained strength after ordeal, being brought to health by their amazing foster family.

Now Brianna, Shelby and Arwen are happy and healthy puppies – and all of them in the care of their new forever homes.

Animals in Need Donegal, whose incredible volunteers helped bring the three remaining pups back to health, commented on the incredible recovery on social media.

“As we see Briana, Shelby and Arwen go on to their new fantastic forever homes, we spare a thought for the 8 that passed away through the pure cruelty of being discarded like rubbish,” they posted.

“…and for their mum – we wish she knew that 3 of her babies have grown into fantastic furballs with their lifes ahead of them.”

“Their foster parents have done an absolutely AMAZING job with them. They will have a quiet house now… ’till the next time.”
