Rosses AC weekly notes
Last Sunday it was the Cross County Relays and another super day out today in Finn Valley for our Rosses AC athletes across all age groups.
There was plenty of medals, cheering and fun had by all.
In the Senior and masters XC relays the Senior women with Rachel Bonner, followed by Helen McCreqdy, then Ashleigh Sweeeny and last up was Kevea Gallagher to storm home with Senior team Gold.
We had three Masters ladies teams with teams of Bernie, Martina and Helen, Sarah, Emer and Angie, and Donna, Lorraine and Nicole each booking solid 1K each legs to take Silver and Bronze honours.
Our Masters Men team of Patrick Trimble, Michael Logue and Oliver Postie O’Donnell brought home a fabulous bronze medal.
The Quest Lough Derg saw another great victory for Declan Ferry with David McKelvey not far behind in second.
At the Athlone half Marathon Emily Bonner made the trip and had a fantastic PB performance of 1:40:24 to take a very credible 13th Lady overall.
Also the Seven Sisters 55k, 30k and 16k mountain races took place with Declan Gallagher claiming a fantastic 2nd place in the main race with Kenn Bates got 5th place, Paul McKelvey 16th and James McGeehan 29th. In the 30k Shaun Stewart 7th, Eoin Boyle 18th, Noel O Donnell 22nd place, Eugene McCafferty 25th place, and Malachy Doyle 102nd overall.
