Cloughaneely 0-05 v 2-07 St Nauls

By Charlie Collins at Pairc Naomh Columba

Peadar Mogan with a goal and two points led his club St Nauls to victory in this Relegation Play-off match played at Pairc Naomh Columba in Glenswilly.

Cloughaneely raced to a 0-04 to 0-01 lead after fifteen minutes but only added one more point in the remainder of the game. Darren Ferry scored twice with Shaun Maguire and Blake McGarvey getting the other points, McGarvey blasting his shot over from close range when a goal looked on.

Peadar Mogan fisted St Nauls first point and they then had a goal by Cian McCabe ruled out for a square ball. Goalkeeper Gavin Mulreany came forward to kick a super point from play and then after a scoreless period they grabbed the lead when Declan Duignan scored from close range to send St Nauls in one ahead at halftime, 1-02 to 0-04 and set to play with the wind in their favour in a second-half.

Player-Manager Stephen Griffen increased the lead with an excellent point from an acute angle and when Peadar Mogan burst clear and blasted a super drive to the roof of the net to put St Nauls five in front you felt the game was now theirs to lose.

Joe Campbell and Stephen Griffen added points to push the lead to lead by seven 2-5 to 0-04.
