A rosary will be held this Tuesday evening for the search mission for missing Ramelton man, Paul Buchanan.

Mr Buchanan, a local accountant, has been missing at sea since last Thursday when he embarked on a kayaking trip from Magheragallon pier in Gweedore.

Fr Michael Carney has invited the community to come together to pray at St Mary’s Church, Ramelton at 6.30pm this evening, Tuesday 8th October.

Prayers will be said for Paul’s return and for support and strength for his family.

The Irish Coast Guard is leading an extensive search and recovery operation on the west and north coast.

So far, the search has involved Bunbeg Coast Guard Unit using Boat, Drone and Shore Searches, Aranmore RNLI All Weather Boat, Tory Island Coast Guard, Lough Swilly RNLI All Weather Boat, R118 Sligo based helicopter, R116 Dublin based helicopter, R199 UK Prestwick based helicopter and Aer Corp Casa.

Crews have used boat, drone and the R118 helicopter from Sligo to scan the coastline.

While Paul’s kayak was recovered near Tory Island on Friday, the search for him continues on the west and northwest Donegal coast.
