Donegal hurler Liam McKinney has been honoured as the GAA’s Nicky Rackard Player of the Year.

He was granted the award as the tournament’s best player at an awards ceremony last night.

McKinney shone for Donegal as they lifted the Nicky Rackard Cup, with a number of his teammates also joining him in the coveted “Championship 15” selection.

Stephen Gillespie and Gerald Gilmore joined McKinney in the overall Championship team consisting of Nicky Rackard, Christy Ring and Lory Meagher Cup players.
