Love Woodland Northwest is calling for volunteers to spare a few hours to help plant 1,600 trees in Tullaghan.

So far more than 3,000 native trees have been planted in the Bundoran area thanks to Love Woodland.

Starting at 11am Saturday, 19th October, a few hours of work is required per day to reach the next target at Old Road Tullaghan (Eircode is F91 E370).

The aim of the project is to plant native saplings in the local area to create a biodiversity haven and a carbon sink in the near future.

Everyone who has a basic level of fitness and enjoys outdoors work is welcome to get involved… and sometimes someone brings along some treats!

“Volunteers need wellies or good boots and a bottle of water. We supply gloves, spades and other equipment. We could do with a couple more pick axes if anyone has them,” they said.

“Forecast is OK – but could be odd shower so bring a jacket. All welcome – young or old – if they can use a spade!”
