National: Man (90s) dies after being struck by a car in supermarket car park

A man has died and a woman has been left seriously injured following an incident in Fermoy, Cork.

The two individuals were struck by a car in the car park of a local supermarket this morning.

The man, aged in his 90s, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The second individual, a woman aged in her 60s, was hospitalised with serious injuries.

The driver of the car, a man aged in his 90s, received medical attention at the scene.

The scene has been preserved for technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators.

Gardai in Fermoy are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
