SW Donegal villages gearing up for a frightfully fun Halloween!

The Naomh Ultan Halloween Family Disco makes a welcome return this year! 

Get ready for a frightfully fun evening on Monday 28th October from 5:30pm to 7pm at the Bruckless Community Centre.

Fancy dress is optional, but highly encouraged. Tickets are only €5 per child (Under 13).

Dunkineely Community Centre

Children’s Halloween Fancy Dress party in the Centre on Thursday 31 st October from 6 to 8 pm. Adm €5. Disco, games and spot prizes.

Ceili Dancing

Adult Ceili Dancing lessons, Wednesdays 8 to 9pm.

€7 pay as you go.

Bake Sale 

CLG Naomh Ultan presents a back sale on Sunday 27 th October 12 to 2pm. Raffle and performances by the O’Donnell School of Music. Call in for tea and coffee, and some sweet treats.

Killaghtee School Retirement

Everyone is most welcome to join together on Thursday 24 th October at 7:30pm to celebrate Principal Ms Nuala Duddy’s retirement.

Taking place at St. Peter’s Church, followed by refreshments in the Killaghtee church hall.

The school is putting together a collection of stories, memories and well wishes. If you’d like to add to this, you can email your messages to memorybook@killaghteens.ie

Alternatively, the book will be available to sign on the evening.

Killaghtee N.S. is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms. Sharon Love as the new School Principal. Best wishes to both from Dunkineely Community Ltd.

Movie Night

Join the Bride Christian Fellowship (F94 K263) on 1st November at 8pm for a showing of Woodlawn.

Woodlawn tells the true story of a gifted high-school football player who must learn to embrace his talent and his faith as he battles racial tensions on and off the field. Free admission and refreshments.

Active Retirement

The Killaghtee Active Retirement Association meets every second Wednesday (exc. January, July and August) at the Dunkineely Naomh Ultan GAA Centre (F94 A977).

We welcome visitors wanting to know about the group and its activities, as well as those individuals wishing to become members.

Maeve Lydon RIP

The death has occurred of Maeve Catherine Lydon [née Ryan (Giant)] of St. John’s Point, and late of Mount Merrion, Co. Dublin. She passed away peacefully in the tender care of the staff of St. Vincent’s University Hospital with her loving husband Donal by her side.

She will be very sadly missed by Donal and by her brother Padraig, her

sisters Breeda and Caroline, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Predeceased by her brothers Seamus (Jim) and Edward, and her sisters Mairead and Antoinette. Rest in Peace.

Following a funeral service on Tuesday morning at the Church of St Thérèse, Mount Merrion, and followed by prayers at Ballymacward Parish Church at 3pm, she was laid to rest in Ballymacward Cemetery, Co. Galway.

Thomas McCready RIP

The death has occurred of Thomas McCready, Ballymagowan, Dunkineely and formerly of Ballysaggart, St. John’s Point in the caring hands of the Harbour Lights Nursing Home.

Predeceased by father Willie and mother Mary Ann, his wife Margaret, partner Breda, his brothers Edward, Paddy, Seamus and John, Sisters Mary Margaret, Bridget, Alice and Teresa. Sadly missed by his sister Lily (Seattle), his sister in law Mary (England) and his Partner Ina, his nieces, nephews, extended family, kind neighbours and friends.

Funeral service was at the Church of Saint Joseph and Saint Conal, Bruckless followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Church Services

Methodist Church: Normal Sunday Services will be held at 10:30am in Dunkineely and 12 noon in Ardara.

Catholic Church: Church of St Joseph and St Conal Newsletter available online at: tiny.cc/PBNL

Church of Ireland: The Killaghtee service will be at 10:45am.
