Abbey and Central Hotels require Payroll and Human Resource Officer (maternity cover)

The Abbey and Central Hotels in Donegal Town require a Payroll and Human Resource Officer to provide maternity cover. 

This is a fixed-term, part-time role and the salary will be negotiable depending on experience.

The position will be located in Donegal Town and will cover payroll and HR across both sister hotels.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collating information from Time management system and reviewing the clock in records for accuracy for up to 200 employees at peak periods.
  • Ensure accuracy in payroll, hour calculations, deductions, and annual leave.
  • Liaising with Departmental Managers to confirm accuracy and approval of time management records.
  • Timely submission of weekly timesheets to be processed by external payroll company.
  • Setting new employees up on our internal systems.
  • Drafting and issuing of staff contracts within the legal timeframe
  • Provide support and guidance to the hotels management teams on HR and employee matters.
  • Deliver an overall HR Strategy that’s aligned with the business needs in relation to best practice polices/processes in recruitment, training development, employee relations, engagement and compliance.
  • Deal with HR issues in a timely manner.
  • Dealing with other Ad Hoc HR issues as they may arise
  • Stay current with changes in HR legislation and best practice.
  • Communicate a positive company culture.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role (HR experience is essential).
  • IPASS qualification preferred.
  • CIPD qualification or membership preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of employments law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent Communication and Organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ensuring confidentiality at all times.
