Gardaí have issued a fresh appeal over a serious assault in Ballybofey earlier this year.

They are appealing for information in relation to the incident which took place in the early hours of April, 21 at Main Street.

The incident occurred at around 1.30am, near the junction of Main Street and Glenfin Street.

A man was assaulted by another man at that location. The injured man sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries as a result.

The culprit being sought by Gardaí in connection with the incident has been described as being in his early 20’s, wearing a quarter zip top and he had dark hair.

There was a large crowd socialising in the town on the night in question as the Donegal v Derry Ulster Championship match had been played the previous evening, Saturday, April 20.

If anybody can assist with information, they are asked to please contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.

The Garda Confidential Line may also be contacted on 1800 666 111.
