Basketball: Mixed fortunes for Team North West

There was mixed fortunes for Team North West in recent days.

On 19th Oct Team North West travelled to Dublin Lion’s club and came away with a win, 73-61 with Tyler Mutemasango scoring 25.

The scores were even at half time but the North West held their nerve and came away with a win.

The team travelled on 26th to Portlaoise then on to Tolka, Dublin on Sunday 27th.

The lads from the North West came very close to beating Portlaoise with final score of 75-68.

They led after the first quarter and it was all even at half time but a disastrous 3rd quarter saw the North West behind by 9 and despite pulling back to within 7 points, it was too little too late.

Sunday’s game against Tolka saw the home team with a 2 point lead at half time, however after another disastrous 3rd quarter Tolka pulled ahead by 17 points going into the final period.

The game ended in defeat for North West with final score of 94-81.

The team travels to Carrick Cruisers in Carrickmacross next weekend for the first round of the Cup competition.
