Hit TV comedy ‘Obituary’ seeking a nice pair of Donegal hands!

The award-winning Obituary series is returning to south Donegal for more dark comedy fun, and the producers are looking for a local with a nice pair of hands!

Filming for the second series is currently taking place between Ballyshannon and Bundoran and the team has asked Donegal Daily to help them with an unusual request.

“We’re on the hunt for a unique set of hands – a hand double who knows their way around suturing,” they explained.

“We’re hoping to find someone with hands that could stand in for a bit of onscreen ‘medical work’.”

Suturing is the practise of stitching wounds.

Filming will potentially be around Monday 11th and Tuesday 12th November in Ballyshannon.

If anyone thinks they fit the bill, the producers would love for them to reach out with a photo of their hands (yes, hands can have their close-up too!).

Penned by Mayo man Ray Lawlor, Obituary received widespread acclaim during its debut season and made its way to streaming platforms Netflix and Hulu.

The series, starring Siobhan Cullen, follows a young obituarist in a newspaper in the fictional small town of Kilraven who turns to committing murders when the locals aren’t dying quickly enough.
