A person has been seriously injured following a crash in Mountcharles overnight.
The injured man was a pedestrian who was struck by a car on the Main Street in the village.
The incident happened at approximately 4.30am.
The victim was rushed to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment where his condition is understood to be serious.
Gardai immediately sealed off the road
Diversions remain in place while Gardai begin a full investigation into the incident.
This is the latest road incident to hit Donegal.
To date a total of 15 people have lost their lives on the county’s roads compared to just ten for all of last year.
