Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending at the scene of a serious crash on the Shore Road, Kerrykeel.

The R246 Carlin Upper road, between Kerrykeel and Portsalon, is currently blocked as a result.

Donegal Daily understands that a man in his 60s has been critically injured in the single vehicle crash.

Donegal County Council said it expects the road to remain closed until tomorrow afternoon.

“Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use the Harry Blaney Bridge or Glenvar Road as diversion towards Portsalon/Fanad area,” a council spokesperson said.

“Road will remain closed until tomorrow afternoon.”

Gardai say that no further information is available.

“No further information is available at this time,” a garda spokesperson said.

Updates to follow.
