A motorcyclist faces a court date after they were caught at 80 km/h over the speed limit.

Gardaí from the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit detected the biker going at an astonishing 181 km/h in a 100 km/h zone, on the N13 at Newtowncunningham earlier this morning.

Gardaí say the driver was arrested, and will be remanded to court at a later date.

Donegal Gardaí are again urging the public to slow down and take care on the roads in light of this latest extreme speeding incident on the county’s roads.
