Fine Gael maintain lead in the polls as General Election looms

The latest set of opinion polls show that Fine Gael have maintained their lead as we close in on a General Election.

Fine Gael have remained unchanged at 26 percent support according to the latest round of Sunday Independent/Ireland Thinks polls.

Their coalition Government partners Fianna Fail have seen a slight bump in support, up one to 20 percentage points.

Sinn Fein meanwhile remain unchanged at 18 percent.

The next biggest grouping is of Independents and Others, commanding 16 percent of the public’s support currently.

The Social Democrats are unchanged at six percent, meanwhile Labour and Aontu are both down one point each to four percent and three percent support respectively.

Solidarity/People Before Profit also remain unchanged at two percent support.
