Tickets booking fast for ‘A Night for Charlie’

Tickets to honour one of Donegal’s best-known broadcasters are booking quickly.

Charlie Collins announced recently that he was retiring after almost 40 years at the forefront of local media.

A specially-arranged night to honour the Letterkenny man will take place at the Mount Errigal Hotel on Friday, November 15th next.

As well as a gala dinner, there will be a trip down memory lane for all those touched by Charlie’s commentaries over the years.

Charlie started his broadcasting career with Donegal Community radio before established himself as a local household name with Highland Radio and then helping to set up the Donegal Sporthub before moving to Donegal Daily.

From All-Ireland Finals to cricket and from Finn Harps to the Donegal International Rally, Charlie has always been at the end of the microphone to capture those magic moments.

Never a man to say no, Charlie has also assisted so many local clubs and organisations who needed a person behind the microphone be it a fundraising event or a charity night.

His easy way and comfortable style hid the fact that Collins always had his homework done before hosting any event.

And as he plans to pull the plug on his glittering career, this is a chance to turn the microphone on Charlie!

Tickets for the event are booking fast and clubs wishing to take tables or individuals seeking tickets are asked to contact the Mount Errigal Hotel directly on 0749122700.
