Gardaí are investigating the theft of machinery from a business premises at Drumnahoe, Letterkenny on Saturday night last.

Two digger buckets for a Kubota digger and a JAB rock breaker were stolen from the premises.

The burglary happened between 9pm and 9.20pm.

Gardai are appealing for dash-cam footage from anybody who may have travelled on the inward or outward lanes of the Port Road between the Dry Arch roundabout and the Polestar roundabout in Letterkenny between 8.30pm and 9.30pm on that date.

The business premises in question is located on the outbound lane not far from the Dry Arch roundabout.

A Garda spokesperson said “We are particularly interested in any sightings of a White Transit van in the area or dash- cam footage of same.

“The van in question is believed to have stalled on the Port road as they would appear to have missed the entrance to the premises in question. It was then reversed back a little before entering the premises.

“This bit of detail may jog the memory of other drivers as it is unusual behaviour on such a busy road.”

If anybody can recall seeing the van in question or if they have dash-cam footage from the area, they are asked to please contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on 074-9167100.

Should anybody come across similar items for sale on a second hand basis, we ask them to alert Gardaí immediately. The Garda Confidential line may be contacted on 1800 666 111.
