Donegal County Council with the support of Transport Infrastructure Ireland has invited residents of the area, members of the public and other interested parties to participate in the third non-statutory public consultation on the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor for the Burtonport to Letterkenny Greenway Project.

The project is currently nearing the completion of the Phase 2: Option Selection process. In December 2023, the second non-statutory public consultation was held, which presented the route corridor options that had been identified following the completion of the Preliminary Options Assessment.

These options have been subject to a further detailed assessment in accordance with the TII Project Manager’s Manual for Greenway Projects, TII Project Appraisal Guidelines and the Department of Transport’s Transport Appraisal Framework leading to the identification of the Emerging Preferred Route Corridor. The purpose of the third non-statutory public consultation is to inform the public of this Emerging Preferred Route Corridor and to invite feedback.

To facilitate this, three in-person public consultation events will take place in Dunfanaghy, Dungloe and Letterkenny as follows:

Tuesday 19th November 2024: 14:00-20:00

  • Ozanam Community Centre, Figart, Dunfanaghy, F92 D86T

Wednesday 20th November 2024: 14:00-20:00

  • Dungloe Public Service Centre, Gweedore Road, Dungloe, F94 H4CF

Thursday 21st November 2024: 14:00-20:00

  • Letterkenny Public Service Centre, Neil T. Blaney Road, Letterkenny, F92 TNY3

Members of the project team will be available to discuss any queries or concerns regarding the project.

After the conclusion of the in-person consultation events above, public displays will be made available from Friday 22nd November 2024 until Friday 6th December 2024 at the following locations:

  • Ozanam Community Centre, Dunfanaghy. Opening hours 09:00 – 21.00 (Monday – Friday).
