Daniel O’Donnell has asked his fans and friends for prayers, after revealing that his nephew is undergoing a health battle.

The singer posted his appeal on social media, with concern for his nephew Frankie.

“He is my brother John’s eldest son. Many of you will remember Frankie from when we owned the Viking House Hotel. He worked in the bar.”

“Please pray for him and his wife and children and John, Bridget and Joey. Prayer is powerful and only God knows the future.”

“Thank you.”

Thousands of Daniel’s fans have reached out and commented with messages of support for Frankie in just a matter of hours.

Caroline Desmond wrote “I lost my faith last year when I buried my daughter because of illness…but seeing your post has kicked me back into realisation that my pain is now another parents….I tonight pray for your nephew and his parents to bring them strength and hope that the power of prayer brings the best to them.”

Annette Simone wrote “We will add your nephew to our prayer list. Our son is now gravely ill with brain cancer. Looking over this long list of people praying…..God’s will will be done. You and all your family must be strong ( as we must be) and be there for him as much as you can. Hugs from Pete & Annette.”

Olivia Deane wrote “Daniel will keep Frankie John, Bridget and Joey in my prayers plus his family. It’s always such a stressful time in any family when illness knock on the door. Please God they can control his pain levels and He will give the family the strength to deal with whatever’s ahead . Stay strong and God bless you all.”
