Gardaí from the Buncrana Roads Policing Unit and members of the RSA have been out in force this weekend in Inishowen carrying out checkpoints.
Gardaí have issued a road safety warning after a number of road traffic offences and car defects were detected.
Defects included a number of vehicles which did not have sufficient tyre tread depth.
Buncrana Gardaí have issued a number of road safety reminders in wake of this weekend’s checkpoints.
They’re reminding motorists to:
- Slow down
- Never drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- Wear your seatbelt
- Do not use/hold your mobile phone while driving
- Ensure that your vehicle is in a roadworthy condition before setting off on your journey
- Please play your part in making our roads safe
