Nominees announced for Carrick development committee elections

The Coiste Forbartha na Carraige elections take place this Saturday in The Old School Carrick from 11-4pm.

Five of the current committee are running along with ten candidates who accepted their nominations.

The committee has issued its thanks to the members who are standing down for their work over their terms.

Those standing for the elections are:

  1. James Byrne – Carrick Upper
  2. Martina Cannon – Carrick Lower
  3. Margaret Cunningham – An na Carraige
  4. Dermy Diamond – Teelin Road
  5. Fiona Doherty – Carrick Lower
  6. Mark Donnelly – Teelin Road
  7. Séamus Gallagher – Teelin Road
  8. Conor Hallett (eeffoc coffee van) – Carrick Lower
  9. Charlie Keeney – Small Road
  10. Deirdre Kennedy – Bogagh Road
  11. Donal McBrearty – Small Road
  12. Jane McGill – Carrick
  13. Mary McNelis – Small Road
  14. Niamh O’Malley – The Old Lawn
  15. Nuala Sharkey – Riverside Park

Anyone over 18 years of age living or working in Carrick Development District can vote.

The District comprises the following townlands: Meenaveen, Creeven, Meenawaughran, Carrick Upper, Carrick Lower, and the Carrick settlement area. The Carrick Settlement Area includes the houses in the Parish of Kilcar on the Bogagh Road and on the Line Road to the farthest extent of the Football Field. This includes those working part-time and owners of holiday homes.
